  2. Project Overview New Project Launch It’s going to be an exciting April/May in second grade. This week, students will begin working on our final project about animals. We are partnering with the kindergarten classes to raise money to buy items for the animals at the Indianapolis Zoo. We will be learning about animals and their habitats. Watch for information about our field trip to the Zoo on Friday, May 23rdto be coming home soon!

  3. I Can: • Identify the meaning or lesson of a story. • Compare and contrast Reading Animal Needs Noise Level 1 Monday • With a reading partner, open your Treasure Book to pages 10-11. Discuss the Talk About It. Then, read Animals Need to Eat to learn your new vocabulary words and discuss word endings. Tuesday and Wednesday Get a partner to read with this week. Then, together Splish Splash, Animal Bathsby April Sayre. Thursday and Friday Finish reading Splish Splash. Complete the comprehension activities after you have finished reading the story. • Materials Needed • Treasure Books • Comprehension Activities • Pencils Project Connection Animals

Use descriptive words to tell why it is your favorite animal. Give good details about the animal. Monday: Use the graphic organizer to help you think about your favorite animal. Use descriptive words and details. Tuesday and Wednesday: Write about your favorite animal. Use the ideas from your graphic organizer to help you write good details. Use descriptive words.
