Listening/Empathizing • furniture a jumbled mess; patient files covered in mud in the parking lot; see where water was over 6 feet deep • Worst luck of anyone: injured Achilles tendon the week before Katrina; taking treatments for 2nd bout with cancer; rear ended by another car in parking lot; lost home and practice to wind/rain • Blew windows out of ICU; power went out but generators kicked in; at 3 a.m. Tuesday generators went out flooded • Son-in-law’s cousin found drowned in her attic
