  1. Day 2 EOC Review Biomolecules Station Lab Teacher Setup: Materials needed Station 1: book, protein food labels. Station 2: book, lipid food labels, candle, paper cell membrane model. Station 3: book, carb food labels. Station 4: book, DNA model kit (put together).

  2. Station 1: Protein 1. Match the following terms on the left with their correct pair. 2. Draw the general structure of a protein in figure 29on page 170in the book. 3. Cut out and glue the protein structure to your booklet 4. Answer the question on your answer sheet. 5. Examine the examples of proteins on the table. Sketchand label them on your answer sheet. How many grams of protein are in a serving of each food item?

  3. Station 2: Lipids 1. Match the terms with the correct definitions. 2. Cut out and glue the lipid structure into your booklet 3. Answer the questions on your answer sheet. 4. Write 3 functions of lipids from your booklet or from p.169 of the text book. 5. Examine the examples of lipids on your table. Draw and label them on your answer sheet. How many grams of fat are in a serving of each of the food items?

  4. Station 3: Carbohydrates • Write the 2 functions of carbsfrom your booklet or from page 168 of your text book. • Cut out and glue the carbohydrate structure to your booklet. 2. Examine the examples of carbohydrates on the table. Sketch and label them on your paper. How many grams of carbohydrates are in the labeled food items? Classify and label each item as either a starch (complex sugar) or a (simple)sugar. 3. Answer the questions about carbohydrates on your answer sheet.

  5. Station 4: Nucleic Acids 1. Write the function of nucleic acids, using your booklet or page 171. 2. From your booklet or page 171 in your text booklist the three parts of a nucleic acid. 3. Cut out and glue the nucleic acid (polymer) to the nucleic acid page of your booklet. 4. Draw and label the nucleic acid and nucleotide from figure 31 on page 171. 5. Answer the questions on your answer sheet. 6. Examine the DNA model. Label the parts of the model. Draw part of the model on your paper.
