  2. Today’s Objective • Today, I will be able to express my persuasive argument. I’ll know I’ve got it when I can draft the first body paragraph of my essay and ensure that it meets all the requirements for this paragraph.

  3. Persuasive Drafting (Body Paragraphs) • Writers of good persuasive essays should start out with their weakestargument & end with their strongestargument. • Good persuasive writers recognize that strong, persuasive body paragraphs include several components: • Strong topic sentence which introduces the main idea of the paragraph • Examples of support for the argument • Clear connection between the reason & the argument • Strong conclusion sentence which sums up the main idea of the paragraph

  4. Persuasive Drafting (Body Paragraphs) • Strong persuasive body paragraphs also follow the rules of good writing such as: • Avoiding personal pronounces • Incorporating transitional words/phrases
