Texas A&M Forest Service Safety Message 01-13 MRE Safety This is a reissue of a previous contamination notice • All MREs packed by the manufacturers listed below on or before the • Julian date of 9139 (05/19/2009) may contain “dairyshake” powder • that could be contaminated with Salmonella. To prevent sickness • the pouch must be removed, opened, and poured into the trash. • Screen all boxes of stored MREs and remove them, if feasible. • Otherwise, label the box with this message and remove “dairyshake” • pouches as the MRE is issued/consumed.
