You may meet someone new or find a solution to a problem you might not have considered before.

  3. Tips to make the most of your conference experience • Minimize Distractions • Set aside time during the day to voicemail messages and emails. • Meet a New Friend • Take advantage of our “Safety Net” online network, Night Outs and other conference networking opportunities to meet a new friend. • Plan ahead by coming to the conference with specific people, vendors and contacts in mind. • Make it a goal to meet one new person every day.

  4. Tips to make the most of your conference experience • Prepare to Present • Offer to present what you learned from the PDC to your fellow co-workers, this will show your supervisor the value for you attending the PDC. • The Business Card Exchange • Don’t forget to bring plenty of business cards • Write notes on the back of business cards to remind you of what you learned or what you need to follow up on later. • Strategic Planning • Bring a copy of your strategic plan and coincide needs with session selection.

  5. Tips to make the most of your conference experience • Get Involved • Attend committee meetings and other ASSE sessions at Safety 2009 to get more involved. • There are also many ways to volunteer at the PDC. • The Exhibits • Make sure to walk the Exhibit Hall, this will give you the chance to deepen your relationship with vendors, ask specialized questions and view product demonstrations. • Give Feedback • Make sure to fill out conference evaluation forms, your feedback helps the planning team improve the conference each year.

  6. Tips to make the most of your conference experience • Review the Poster Sessions • Take the time to review the Poster Sessions to learn something new. • Make a Game Plan • Take a look through the brochure to see, what sessions you want to attend and what exhibitors you would like to visit. • Take Notes • Take time out of your day to take and organize your notes while they are still fresh in your head.

  7. Tips to make the most of your conference experience • After the conference • Don’t let your business cards pile up, enter them into your contacts. • Send emails to the people to met, this keeps the connection going. • Keep your promises, if you offered to send someone an article or sample, do so. • Most Importantly HAVE FUN!
