  3. From September 2012 BSc. Honours Sociology Degree LSE / University of London accredited 3 years full time 2 evenings a week 5-9pm 24 hours independent study Costs £5000 a year

Prosecution Trial Lawyer with the International Criminal Court in the Hague Ronald Coase, winner of the Nobel Prize for Economics Nelson Mandela studied LLB whilst imprisoned on Robben Island Dianne Thompson, CEO of Camelot, the UK’s National Lottery

  6. Quality assurance Students are examined to the same standard as internal students. All examinations are set and marked by academics appointed by the University of London. Subject to regular internal and external reviews, including QAA.

Fees BSc Sociology • Application £66 • Apply direct to University not through UCAS • Could have as back up plan but would lose £66 if withdraw • Cost paid to University £1434 • Cost paid to Leventhorpe £3566 • Total cost in first year £5000 • You can have part time work • You can take out student finance

  15. Course length Third week September – Christmas end of term – 11 weeks 3rd week January – mock exams – 1 week 4th week January – end of May half term – 11 weeks Last week May mock exams – 1 week 24 weeks May / June exams in London

  16. Entry Requirements To automatically meet our entry requirements students will need at least 260 UCAS points (BCC) from 3 A’ Levels or 2 A’ Levels and 2 AS Levels (or an equivalent qualification). You will also need a GCSE grade C or above in Maths (or an equivalent qualification).

  17. Leventhorpe Leventhorpe is a teaching institution of the University of London International Programmes. This means that in the considered view of the University of London we have acceptable standards for the purpose of supporting students of the University of London International Programmes in preparing for their examinations.

Denise Jackson Completing Doctorate in Sociology of Education Taught Sociology in Further and Higher Education for over 22 years Experience of teaching Higher Education with Middlesex University, Open University, Cambridge University and as a consultant with University of Hertfordshire Qualifications: First Class BSc. Honours degree in Sociology, Masters degree in Management, BA degree in Psychology, Diploma in Applied Social Sciences, PGCE, GTP.
