Bratskiy district • The district is located in the northern part of Mykolayiv oblast • Area: 1,1 thous.sq.km • Borders: Arbuzynskyi, Elanezkiy, Voznesenskiy districts of Mykolayiv oblast, Bobrunezkiy and Novouktainsliy districts of Kirovograd oblast • The number of settlements – 60 -urban-type settlement –1, - villages - 59 • Population: 18,9 thous. people Formed in – March 7,1923

Resource and raw material potential • Water resources: • rivers:Mertvovid, Maznytsya,Mala Korabelna,Kostuvata, Kamyshuvata • 83 ponds • (area of water mirror– 644,24 ha) • 3 reservoirs – 91,93 ha • Forestry: • forests cover 4.9 ha, that represents 4.45% of the district. • Agricultural land: 100.6 thous. ha, including arable land - 88.2 thous. • Minerals: granite

5. Labor potential Total population - 18,9 thousand people, including male – 8,9 thous.people, female -10,0 thous. people. Population density - 16.7 persons. per km. apt. Average salary - 1431.29 hrn. per month.

6. Tourist potential There are 43 historical and cultural monuments, 6 architectural monuments (hospital that dates back to the beginning of ХХ century, park of ХІХ cent.,grange of Zhuvkovuchiv of the beginning of ХІХ cent.,railway station of the beginning of ХІХ cent., the Mill and local school that dates back to ХХ cent.) The terrain is decorated with canyon, located in the Peter and Paul village council, which is an internal part of the national park “Bug Gard”.

7. District infrastructure There are created and operating: • 99 shops; • 17 caterings; • 44 objects of household,including 5 in rural area; • Financial Credit Network area consists of the following bank branches: Mykolayiv regional management of Oshchadbank; MOU Raiffeisen Bank Aval and NRM Privatban. Transport communications • public roads - 224,5 km; • railroad tracks– 16 km. • The area incorporates with: • Odessa Railroad “Kolosivka-Pomoshna”; • two roads of regional significance "Arbuzynka-Yelonets-NovaOdesa"and "Bratsk-Voznesensk” Gasification and water supply • Gasification: • 18 from 60 localities are gasified in the district (30%); • an extension of gas networks is 217.18 km. particularly 89, 6 km of high pressure. • Water: • centralized water supply provided 35 settlements of the district; • an extension of water networks - 241.5 km; • 25 populated points use water from mine pits; • the sources of water at the area re 31 voids and 254 mine wells.

8. Connection and advanced technologies Cellular operators provide coverage of all populated areas of the district. Fixed telephone:number of subscribers - 2771;connected to the Internet - 312 subscribers.

10. Industry Industry is represented: • manufacture of food products ( 98,0 %); • wood products(1,5 %); • printed products(0,5 %). The number of people employed in industry is 190 people.  In 2009 volume of sales gained to 2.073 mln., representing 0,01% of total sales in Mykolayiv region.

Main budget-area businesses RCnamed after Michurin RC named after Michurin is an advanced enterprise on crop production and cattle breeding, food production and introduction of advanced technologies of grain storage. OJSC «Lyudmylivskyi elevator» The company is considered to be among leaders several years already on the introduction of new energy saving technologies of storage and processing of grain.

Natural and climatic conditions are conducive to the cultivation: • cereals (wheat, barley, maize); • industrial crops (sunflower, soybean, canola). • The main directions of agriculture: • crop production (cereals and industrial crops); • livestock (milk and meat production). • There are: • 13 large agricultural enterprises (30,3 thousand ha of arable land); • 171 farms ( 24,5 thous. ha.) 13. Progressive agricultural enterprises Cnamed after Kuibashev Is one of the best farms in crop production and livestock.    In 2010, the farm gathered the largest yield of early grain - 9064 tons. It actively implements new technologies of growing production. RCJSC “Dobrobut” Is engaged in growing of grain and industrial crops.Every year farmers pick record harvests. In 2010 average yield of early grain crops was 44.5 c / ha. The farm employs over 100 people.

Social and cultural sphere Educatin: • 22 secondary schools • 17 nursery schools Health There are 31 health institutions: • Central raion hospital (uts.Bratske) for 110 beds; • 3 rural medical clinic (Novokostiantynivska, Novomaryivska and Hannivka); • 27 obstetrical centres. Culture The network of cultural institutions contains: • 1 Art school; • 26 rural libraries; • 24 clubs and houses of culture; • 6 Historical museums.

15. Health care institutions In a picturesque corner near the v. Lisove there is a camp for children "Forest Tale“ with 200 seats. It attracts kids with its clean air, clear water and a stone garden. Every two years, the camp helds Ukrainian Festival of Art "My native land“. The amator groups from all over Ukraine participate in the festival. 16. Experience of investment The initiator of the project about "Drying and storing of grain with advanced technologies"was RC named after Michurin, which invested 2.5 mln. of its own and borrowed funds in new technologies. The result of the project was the ability to store grain with European technology under anaerobic conditions in polyethylene bags for up to 200 tons. “The reconstruction of secondary school is terminated.”During the period since 2006 about 9.0 mln. hrn. of budget funds invested in the reconstruction, the energy saving measures, replacement of communications were implemented, the proper conditions for the educational process were created.
