Need to communicate: • The Pressures: • Indoctrination: axiomatic Postmodernism in school • Domination: Incredulity / shock & awe at dissidents, uncompromising Postmodern absolutism. • Bribery: $$ is the answer, SEX / “the world is yours” • Conformity: no such thing as truth, “accept your indoctrination as a good little Postmodern student…” • Intimidation: “absolutists are dangerous…like Hitler” • Persecution: repression & ridicule. • Submit to THIS AUTHORITY: “all the power & promise lies with us…” • The Path of Non-Conformity • The prisoner who takes Babylon captive. • Respectful, must be above reproach. • Answers to a different authority. • Is not subject to the same rules. • Lived in freedom wherever he went. • No way to dominate Daniel. • Determined at a young age. • Thus: everyone else melted away, Daniel & Co. stands strong today. • Are you: • Different? • Willing to think different? • Willing to study? • Eating a different diet? • (Kyle: “It’s a different college experience, but more significant…”) • There’s “Full” & “full” requires discernment. • Willing to Sacrifice? • Able to love even ‘strangers’ ? • Able to love even ‘enemies’ ? • Able to conquer JC’s way? • Able to resist bribery?
