  1. ECO-INDUSTRIAL PARKS ENVIRONMENTAL SUPPORT SYSTEMGERMANY WORKSHOP16/ 12/2010 Dr. Zeynep Yöntem General Director Ekodenge Engineering & Consultancy

  2. EPESUS PROJECT AIMS • To design decision support tool in order to develop waste and energy management • To serve Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) within an industrial park or any communication network, • To improvetheir environmental requirements, managing their resource usage and waste management • To improve their energy efficiency. • To deliver a set of guidelines and best practices to the industrialists by the help of a software tool. • To provide guidance for waste minimisation and reuse, energy saving potential and optimization for the industrial establishments of an EIP through utilisation symbiotic relations.

  3. WORK PACKAGES • WP 1 – PROJECT MANAGEMENT • WP 2 – DEFINITION OF WASTE MANAGEMENT PARAMETERS • WP 3 - DEFINITION OF ENERGY EFFICIENCY METHODOLOGY • WP 4 – INFORMATION SYSTEM DEVELOPMENT • WP 5 – CASE STUDIES WITHIN INDUSTRIAL PARKS • WP - 6 PREPARATION OF TRAINING MATERIALS AND THE TRAINING PROGRAMME • WP 7 – DISSEMINATION AND EXPLOITATION

  4. WP1 MANAGEMENT WP7 DISSEMINATION WP2 WP3 WASTE MANAGEMENT ENERGY EFFICIENCY WP4 EPESUS INFORMATION SYSTEM Management Support Module Industrial Establishment Support Module Feedback WP5 WP6 CASE STUDIES TRAINING WP7 DISSEMINATION Work ProgrammeDiagram

  5. IndustrialSectors • textile processing plants, • smitheries and foundries, • large combustion plants, • building industry • polymer plants. • We need processes input output data for calculation of waste composition and quantities. • We used the pre-defined processes from the library or individually specified processes for calculation • System boundary and data gathering report that also includes identification of the standard process flow module specifications

  6. Progress of work plan in the period • EPESUS project has completed its 15 months at the end of November 2010. • PR 1 has been delivered for the first eight months. PR 1 has been aimed at developing the dissemination activities of the project and also establishment of the project technical baseline. • The second eight months of the project has been focused more on the development of the technical workloads.

  7. Progress of work plan in the period • Progress on work package2 • Activities of the work package 2 aimed at development of a detailed exemplary study in order to orient the partner. Each sectoral study should be synchronized in the same line. For this reason, the first delivery of the WP2 includes standard flow diagrams for one sector. The other sectoral studies are expected to be developed in the same procedure. • The exemplary study is carried out on the polymer sector. The PVC production data is compiled in LCA vision. These documents are presented in the annex x of technical documents. “Basic Definition of Standard Process Flow Module Specifications” document includes datasheets relevant with the PVC production phases. • The sectors are shared between the relevant partners. The partners’ contribution includes the sectoral studies under their responsibility. The partner’s contribution.documentswill include the system boundaries of the sectors mentioned in the EPESUS project. • Basic definition of standard process flow module specifications

  14. Progress of work plan in the period

  15. Progress of work plan in the period Progress regarding performance indicators(Improved environmental performance, Better use of natural resourcesEconomic performance / market replication) • Performance indicators aim to define medium term improvements expected on environmental and economic parameters on the covered sectors/processes. Short term improvements cannot be measured until the system is deployed, tested and the users are trained. • The indicators of short term objectives can be in monitored by monitoring a relational gradual approach to the below mentioned mid term goals, starting from the deployment and use of the EPESUS system at the test sites in WP 4 and 5 and after the wider application of the EPESUS IS starting in month 28.

  16. Progress of work plan in the period • Progress regarding market uptake and exploitation • EPESUS exploitation plan asserts details on how the project results will be exploited, especially for the primary and secondary users of the project activities. • It aims to set up the successful exploitation of the results both during the project lifetime and in particular after the project has been concluded.

  17. Work plan for the next period

  18. Neceseary Document From Partner • Original signed Partnership Agreement • Original signed Confidentiality Agreement • Original signed timesheets (From March 2010 to November 2010) • Payroll for each month • Flight Ticket for Kick-off Meeting • Boarding Pass of Kick-off Meeting • Hotel Invoice for Kick-off Meeting • Meeting room rental invoice • Other invoices
