Global Academy Program Goals • Utilize a "team approach" • Provide Integration of academic and technology curricula. • Provide a curriculm that meets the requirements for students who wish to attend a four-year college or university. • Provide students with opportunities to sharpen their skills in critical thinking, problem-solving, decision-making and reasoning. • Engage students in the use of technology as a tool to research, develop, organize and present information. • Prepare students to be life-long learners. • Lay a foundation for students to participate comfortably in an increasingly technological society. • Prepare students for further training and education in the global marketplace by using state-of-the-art equipment and software. • Introduce students to the world of work through business

  4. 12th Grade Curriculum Options: Capstone Course is: Innovative Technology which consists of computer programming and design and video game development Elective Courses Include: Architectural Design, Automotives, Graphic Arts & Printmaking, AP Programming, ROP Virtual Enterprise CLASS of 2006

The Global Technology Student After 4 years at Millikan High School • Proficiencies: • Software - Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Dreamweaver and Flash • Basic Computer Maintenance – install hardware and software, basic upgrades & troubleshooting skills • Basic Web Page Design – how to layout and prepare a web site for publication • Innovative Technology – Flash animation, computer programming and design • Equipment Skills – Windows and Macintosh computers, laser printers, digital cameras and camcorders, scanners, electronic test equipment and tools

Certificate Recognition • Certificates for IT Essentials 1 (Computer Maintenance and Repair), and Web Page Design • Students receive these Certificates from the Cisco Networking Academy, which is associated with our Global Technology Academy • Certificates show the skills/proficiencies that the student has accomplished for each of the classes
