  2. A. APPLYING SLIDE-TO-SLIDE TRANSITIONS • Animate the transitions from one slide to another. • To apply slide-to-slide transitions : • Slides Tab select a slide or a group of to apply a slide transition. • Click on the Animation ribbon.

  3. Transition to This Slide section - scroll through all of the animation choices - click on an animation to select it. • Powerpoint will apply the transition to your selected slide, and a preview will appear in the slide composition pane.

  4. i. Changing the Speed of a Slide Transition • Animation ribbon - click on the down-facing arrow next to Transition Speed. • Drop-down menu - select the speed you wish to apply in your slide transition. • Powerpoint will apply the new speed to your slide transition and a preview of it will appear in the slide composition pane.

  5. Click Apply To All if you want the same Transition for all your slides.

  6. ii. Applying a Timed Slide Advance Animation ribbon - Advance Slide area - click on the checkbox labeledAutomatically After. Next to the Automatically After label, enter the mount of time to elapse between the display of one slide and the advance to the next slide.

  7. B. APPLYING CUSTOM ANIMATIONS • Slides tab - select the slide to add custom animation. • Animations ribbon, click on Custom Animation. • Custom Animation will appear on the right of the screen.

  8. On your slide, click on the first object that you wish to animate. • On the Custom Animation task pane, click on the button labeled Add Effect. • From the drop down menu that appears, select the type of animation you would like to apply.

  9. Animation effects - click on the desired effect. Click on More Effects to view more options.

  10. Powerpoint will apply the custom animation to the selected object, and will display a preview of the animation in the slide pane. • To preview, click on Play at the bottom of the Custom Animation task pane.

  11. Custom Animation task pane, Powerpoint will list all of the custom animations for a slide in the order in which you added them. • Once you have applied the custom animation, Powerpoint will display the same number in the list next to the image of that slide in the slides tab.

  12. C. MODIFYING YOUR CUSTOM ANIMATIONSi.Replacing an Animation • Custom Animation task pane, click on the animation to modify. • Click on the button labeled Change. • Drop-down menu, select a new custom animation and Powerpoint will apply the new animation to your selected objects/slides.

  13. ii. Changing the Order of a Slide’s Animations • Click on the animation effect you wish to change. • Use the up-facing/down-facing arrow below the animation list. • Click Play button to preview.

  14. iii. Changing the Speed of Entrance an Exit Animations • Click on the animation. • Modify area – Custom Animation task pane – click down-facing arrow next to the box labeled Speed. • Select the speed.

  15. iv. Adding a Timed Delay between Animations • Click on the animation. • Click on the down-facing arrow. • Drop-down menu – select Timing.

  16. Timing Tab. • Click on the down-facing arrow next to the box labeled Start. • Drop-down menu – select After Previous.

  17. To increase the time delay – click on the up-facing arrow. • To save – click button labeled OK.

  18. v. Removing an Animation • Custom Animation task pane – click animation you wish to remove. • Upper-right-hand corner – click button labeled Remove.
