  2. Reasons Behind Imparting Self-Defence in India  "Every second child was being subjected to one or other forms of sexual abuse" " The most common crimes are rapes, theft and armed robbery." "Based on the safest and most dangerous countries ranking, India is the 106th safest country in the world. The country is a relatively safe country; the most common crimes are rapes, theft and armed robbery."  "According to data from the Indian National Crime Records Bureau, 58,224 crimes were committed against children in 2013, which is a 52.5% rise over the previous year."  "Sexual molestation, child abuse, and child rape have become so rampant in many parts of India." "Almost every week,a young child becomes a victim of a crime in India."

The major reason why children are more prone to attack is because attackers know they are easy preys; they cannot defend themselves. Therefore, teaching self-defence as a curriculum in India could make it difficult for attackers to have their way with children.
