  1. 6. What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing the product? Ellie O’Neill

  2. Final Cut Final Cut was the main software we used. This software taught us how to edit effectively, convert files and download our footage onto the desk top. Final Cut allowed us to edit our footage easily with the wide variety of tools. As well as this, we were able to add credits, transitions and filters to our sequence and managed to do this with ease. Although this seems simple to us now, in the beginning we found it difficult to understand the software and sometimes it would crash which would confuse us.

  3. Garage Band We used Garage Band to create our soundtrack for our sequence. I learnt how to import our footage into the Garage Band software so that I could create the soundtrack in time with the sequence. I also learnt how to import downloaded sound into this software. These abilities enabled us to create a good soundtrack to fit exactly with footage how we wanted it. There were a few drawbacks of using this software such as we didn’t find the perfect sounds. We felt although there were many sounds to choose from, we didn’t find the perfect one for our thriller and we had to improvise by choosing what sounded as similar as possible to what we had originally wanted.

  4. Word Press To record all our blog entries, we used a programme called Word Press. At first, I was confused as I had never created and used a blog before but by using it frequently I quickly became used to it and was able to use it with ease. I was able to attach documents, pictures, URLS to any blog entry and it was clearly shown how to do this. Each blog entry can be viewed and edited easily and whoever from our group was involved in making a blog entry, would be tagged in the blog so that whoever read the entry knew who had been involved in it.

  5. iTunes We used iTunes when we needed to import a sound into Garage Band. This software allowed us to have the incredibly tense heartbeat effect to end our sequence. Using this software, I learnt how to search on iTunes, find the sound that I wanted and convert it into Garage Band and then into Final Cut. There were a couple of drawbacks when using iTunes such as it was sometimes difficult to search for sounds and at first it was difficult for us to discover how to convert the sound from iTunes to Garage Band.
