  1. Matthew 14:22-33  22Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowd.

  2. Matthew 14:22-33 23After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. When evening came, he was there alone,

  3. Matthew 14:22-33 24but the boat was already a considerable distance from land, buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it.

  4. Matthew 14:22-33  25During the fourth watch of the night Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. 26When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. “It's a ghost,” they said, and cried out in fear.

  5. Matthew 14:22-33  27But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don't be afraid.”  28“Lord, if it's you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”

  6. Matthew 14:22-33 29“Come,” he said.    Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. 30But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”

  7. Matthew 14:22-33  31Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?”

  8. Matthew 14:22-33  32And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down. 33Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, “Truly you are the Son of God.”

  10. Jesus Walking On The Water – Staying Focused On Him

  11. Don’t Be Afraid • Learn to recognize God in the weary and difficult times and don’t be afraid of what the world throws at us. • We can still hear Jesus saying “Be courageous. It’s me. Don’t be afraid.”

  12. Get Out Of The Boat • It is only when you get out of the boat that you can experience the power of God. • We don’t know what opportunities God’s Spirit will provide, but by keeping our focus on Jesus, we can recognize and act upon them when they come.

  13. Keep Your Eyes On Jesus • The only way to accomplish the impossible is to keep your eyes on Jesus and His power. • Jesus spent time refocusing on God. If He needed this perhaps we do too.

  14. Jesus Is In Control • “Then Jesus came to them and said. ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.’” Matt. 28:18-20
