  1. Renewable solution for IT

  2. Advantages • Using nature’s energy • Using nature’s energy • Using nature’s energy

  3. Disadvantages • Cannot be stored like coal and natural gas can. • Storage is a huge issue because using renewable energy puts us at the whim of Mother Nature. • If there is no wind for a week, relying on wind power becomes a problem. • If you are too far north, solar panels will only produce sufficient energy when the Northern Hemisphere of the planet is tilted towards the sun and so on.

  4. Diagram of renewable energy system

  5. Why you would use renewable energy • The more we use renewable energy, the more we benefit the environment, strengthen our energy security, create jobs locally, and help improve our economy.

  6. Recommendation • The Australia should establish a national level policy with binding clean energy targets to ensure a viable, stable, and long-term domestic market for RE&EE goods and services. • The Department of Energy should modify its mission to include the promotion of Australia economic competitiveness. • The effect on U.S. economic competitiveness should be taken into account before entering into bilateral research and development partnerships and in the evaluation of the effectiveness of such partnerships. • The Department of Energy should add an evaluation of the potential export market into its grant and loan application and selection process to assure the U.S. is developing and commercializing RE&EE technologies that can be exported competitively. • NIST/MEP and DOE/ITP should identify and adopt consistent international voluntary technical standards for RE&EE services and corresponding qualifications for E3 service providers.

  7. Conclusion • Geothermal Engery could be utilised as a clean energy Source allowing further development of renewable energy Sources. • IT systems could reduce their energy footprint making them more suiteabl for Powering renewable energy
