  1. The Galactic center X-ray emissions Katsuji Koyama: Kyoto University and Osaka University The Galactic center is a treasure box of high energy physics. The nearest AGN and star burst galaxy. I will report X-ray views of the Galactic center. • Global structure of the Galactic Center X-ray Emission (GCXE) and the Galactic Ridge X-ray Emission (GRXE) • Origin ? --> Star burst activity or AGN? • AGN activity: K-shell lines of neutral ions

  2. K-shell line distribution diffuse or point sources ? Fit the spatially resolved spectra with : a power-law + Gaussians model Fluxes (F) F6.9 : Fe XXVI-Lya = 6.95 keV F6.7 : Fe XXV-Ka = 6.70 keV F2.6 : S XVI-Lya = 2.63 keV F2.5 : S XV-Ka = 2.46 keV

  3. Galactic Center X-Ray Emission Galactic Ridge X-Ray Emisson (GCXE) (GRXE) FeXXV-Ka FeXXVI-Lya S XV-Ka S XVI-Lya Spectrum of the GCXE is different from the GRXE.  Origin of GCXE is different from GRXE.

  4. FeXXV Kα vs Stellar mass (COBE, IRAS IRT) Excess above the stellar mass function 0.01 0.1 110 Longitude Major fraction of the GCXE is truly diffuse.  What is the origin ? Past flares of Sgr A* ? To solve this question, we used the 6.4 keV line : Fe I Ka (Neutral iron)

  8. Fermi Bubble & Jet Big out-burst of several million years ago ? Su et al.2010

  9. 120 pc Recombing plasma nt= 5.3 ×1011 (sec/cc): n = 0.1/cc  t (Age) ~ 2×105 year\ Nakashima et al. 2012

  10. Past Activities (Out Burst) of Sgr A* 1044 - 1042 - 1040 - 1038 - 1036 - 1034 –erg/s FB RP X-ray echo 106 105 104 103 102 look back time (year)

  11. Conclusion The Galactic Center X-Ray Emission (GCXE) is diffuse plasma, which would be different from the Galactic Ridge X-ray Emission (GRXE). The GCXE would be made by past out-bursts. The past out-bursts are traced by the 6.4 keV line echo, the recombing plasma and the Fermi bubble.
