  1. Modern Art Gallery Exhibitions- A true reflection of traditions, events, movements, practices, and emotions! Modern art refers to the artistic work created, the styles and philosophy followed during more than 100 years from the 1860s to 1970s. In India, it began in the early 1900s. It puts aside the traditions of the past and experiments with new styles and philosophy for more expressive art creation. Global modern art unites many art movements like Constructivism, Surrealism, Neo-expressionism, Symbolism, Fauvism, Abstract Expressionism, Futurism, Suprematism, Pop Art and many others. Modern art has five essential elements –representation, expression, decoration, construction and fantasy. Modern art witnessed changes influenced by technological advancements and events. The modern artists responded to these changes by embracing new mediums and styles of expression. Modern art in India was greatly influenced by Swadeshi Movement artists like Rabindranath Tagore, Nandalal Bose, Raja Ravi Verma and others. Then, there came the time of other artists like Jamini Roy, Amrita Shergill, SH Raza, MF Husain, FN Souza, KG Subramanyam, Jagdish Swaminathan and many known contributors. The sculptors like Satish Gujral, Dhanraj Bhagat, Raghav Kaneria, Navjot and KS Radhakrishnan contributed significantly to the world of art. Now, the art is passing through a phase of Post Modernism. Contemporary art is the art of today. A modern art gallery acted as a mediator to reach different artifacts to the public and contributed substantially to the world of modern art. It helped to sustain art and artists and kept alive the art. Many artists of different styles approached or were approached by art galleries for displaying their artwork. The art galleries accepted many artworks and put on the display based on the theme of an exhibition or style of the individual artist. They also organized seminars and released modern art books. They facilitated a platform for innovative and experimental art practices. Several prominent cultural cities in India are home to modern art galleries. Art galleries provide the perfect backing to esteem, admire and appreciate works of great artists. National Gallery of Modern Art in Delhi is the most famous Indian Modern Art Gallery. The other spearheading modern art galleries include Academy of Fine Arts (Kolkata), Jahangir Art Gallery (Mumbai), JJ Art Gallery, Baroda Museum and Picture Gallery and National Gallery of Modern Art (Mumbai). Some of the art galleries even today organize shows dedicated to 20th-century artists and try to secure methodological links between modern and contemporary art.
