  2. Why do we need “clean” ISEE data? • District Funding • Ada – best 28 weeks • Staff data – that info which used to be IBEDS • Pay for Performance

  3. Schoolnet • Student demographics • Attendance • Historical grades • Information used for postsecondary schools

  4. Where to start? • Create a team • ISEE Specialist • District Secretary • Building Secretaries • VIB Specialist • District Tech Specialist • Classroom Teachers

  5. Provide training • Someone must be an expert in your student demographic application, i.e. Powerschool • Someone must be an expert in ISEE • Helps to have someone who can use Microsoft Access or similar app • Should be working toward automation

  6. Roles • ISEE Specialist • Must check data on student information system (sis) before each upload • Reviews error report from state and corrects all errors (or designates others to correct). 9 reports. • Building Secretaries • 100% correct data in sis – i.e. birthdays, sex, ethnicity, start/end date, attendance – all in the same format • District Secretary • Staff demographics including cert/non cert • District calendar

  7. Roles Cont. • VIB Specialist – all special education data • Federal Specialist – FRL, etc. • Tech Specialist • App to validate data coming from sis and employee management system (ems) – includes demographics, staff assignments, payroll, district calendar, teacher attendance, sub attendance and then upload to ISEE. Takes all nine spreadsheets, • Classroom teachers • Daily attendance must be on time and 100% accurate • Grades

  8. Timeliness All data has to be up to date every month! Keep up on it or it will get away from you.

  9. ISEE Specialist • Needs to check sda • District calendar • Student demographics • Course enrollment • ISEE templates (9) when get error report back from state

  10. ISEE Specialist • Error Reports • 1. Student demographics • Missing EDUID’s – sort by EDUID and fill in the blanks • PUT SCREEN SHOT HERE • Sort by each other column in student Demographic spreadsheet • Birthday, ethnicity, PTE concentrator, border students, bus ridership, etc. This has to be 100% accurate and correct.

  11. ISEE Specialist • 2 of 9 – Student Course Enrollment • Every class, every day – what are students taking • Every teacher must have a student assignment • 3 of 9 – Student Daily Attendance • Check to see that all are not zeros. • There are two files. Make sure you have the correct one!
