  3. Discussion • “Is it possible to live simply in the 21st century and will it make a difference in our world? (Or are we just kidding ourselves?)”

  4. Questions to answer: • 1.What do we value as individuals? Come up with 5 things you cannot live without. • 2. Discuss what our needs really are • 3. Discuss / explain the purpose of the unit

  5. Be happy with your lot, in life!

  6. Use less electricity and gas in our homes • Using less electricity and gas in our homes is a fantastic thing to do because it limits the amount of household gases getting released into the atmosphere. • It is also good to use less electricity and gas because you can reserve natural resources.

  7. Feed/clothe the Homeless

  8. Plan to conserve Water Manageitbetter,itisapreciouscommodity

  9. Live ‘Gandhi’

  10. Consider buying Australian made Next time your at the shop buy Australian made products and you will help the people of our country and our environment!!

  11. Plant a herb or vegetable garden to become more self sufficient! It’s great Fun!!

  12. Reduce. Re-use. Recycle to Limit Waste!

  13. Many People are less fortunate than you donate and change someone's life forever Donate to Charities

  14. WALK TO SCHOOL OR WORK ONCE PER WEEK • IT WILL HELP THE ENVIRONMENT AND • YOU WILL BECOME FITTER AND HEALTHY

  15. Share resources- everyone doesn’t have to have everything consider a community approach. Not everybody needs to go and buy everything. Your neighbor may be kind enough to lend it to you, in exchange for something you may have.

  16. Give your old clothing, furniture and household goods to charities who can make them available to the less fortunate

  17. Support those in our communities who are disabled and elderly.

  19. Learn to love the simple things in life - they are often the best!

  20. Utilise Renewable Energy • People can help the earth by using Renewable Energy.

  21. Stop wasteful consumerism Buying material goods should not be the focus of our lives and living in excess just seems so wrong when there are literally thousands of people struggling to get by!

  25. Consider the environmental impacts of decisions

  26. Look after the planet!

  27. Appreciate good relationships – value spending time with family and friends

  28. One person’s trash is another’s treasure – don’t send everything to landfill waste dumps

  29. LOVE IS GREATER THAN MONEY… so let people know we love them often…

  30. Reach out to those who find difficulty coping with daily life.
