  2. MSC Malaysia via its K-Workers Development Initiatives (KDI) is driving the provision of last mile skills training to potential knowledge workers (K-workers) for the ICT industry. Trainings are currently done through partnership with Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC). • MSC Malaysia USP, a KDI programme, provides fresh graduates and available k-workers the necessary training to fill immediate vacancies in MSC, Malaysia Status companies. • IntroductionUndergraduate Skills Programme is designed specifically for any Knowledge worker who wants to improve or expand their current ICT skills and knowledge. This program seeks to help knowledge workers with the support and access to courses and trainings to stay aligned with the current needs of the ICT industry.

Undergraduate Skills Programme 2011 • The Undergraduate Skills Programme (USP) is specifically designed for Undergraduates who wish to enhance their skills in programming, database, operating systems, networking and much more. • These technical and soft skill courses are inline with today's ICT industry needs and will increase the marketability of Malaysian Undergraduates. • MSC Malaysia status companies will also get an opportunity to interview the undergraduates during the course duration.

Fast Facts • Target Undergraduate:Minimum requirement – Diploma & Degree final year onwards (final paper completed by December 2011) • Objective:It's objective is to assist soon-to-be graduates to gain relevant industry skill sets and encourage employability. • Key Benefits:USP provides free training to assists soon-to-be graduates to gain relevant industry skill sets, during the industrial attachment period. This will enhance the talent pool for MSC Malaysia while improving their employability upon graduation and reduce unemployment. The latest modules will be divided into 2 section for maximum learning's. The first 15 days will focus on IT training whereas the balance 5 days will empower participants to be well rounded in critical soft skills for success.

  6. How to Apply ? Its easy • Fill in the student data registration form 2011 and USP registration form supply by Mdec. • Then each student must attach relevant copy of • a. My KAD • b. Copy of CGPA slip • c. USP Individual Registration form signed by the students ( template as attached) • Make sure you mail full list of 25 final student names and scan copy of individual students documents by 20th march 2010. • Please wait for approval notification from Mdec. It will take 7 working days. • We will contact successful applicants with full training details.

  7. Who can participate? • All Malaysian final year undergraduates • Strictly with a minimum CGPA of 2.50. No pre qualification test. • Passed the pre-assessment evaluation by KDI • Have not participated in any Mdec USP course before. • Final exam completed by 31st December 2011

Personal Home Page 6 DeveloperCourse Objective This course is designed to give participants the in depth knowledge on designing and developing PHP based web applications and web portals utilising MySQL database server. Significant feature upgrades in PHP 6 such as security and performance implementations would be reviewed.

Unix/Linux System AdministrationCourse Objective • This course is intended for students interested in gaining a greater understanding of Linux and for those responsible for providing basic installation, operation and troubleshooting services on Linux workstations and servers. • A general understanding of Linux administration skills is helpful but not necessary for course attendance.

  16. XML Course Objective • This instructor-led course provides students with the skills to build a Web application of moderate complexity. Such an application connects to and retrieves data from a data source, processes Extensible Markup Language (XML) data before sending it to the client, and saves updates from the client back to the database. • The goal of this course is to teach developers techniques for exchanging and transforming data by using the Extensible Markup Language (XML) and Extensible Stylesheet Language Transformations (XSLT). The course describes best practices for XML and XSLT and gives compelling examples of the best ways to solve real-world problems.

XML Learning Outcome After completing this course, students will be able to: • List the uses and benefits of XML in a Web site • Create well-formed and valid XML documents • Create a schema • Use XSL to display XML data in a Web browser • Use XSL to transform XML data into a different XML format • Display dynamic XML data in a Web browser by using data binding and the Document Object Model • Use ASP and ADO to read data from a data source and store it as XML • Add, delete, update data from the client using XML and save to a database on the server • Post XML data to a Web Service using SOAP and retrieve a response • Define XML Path Language (XPath) expressions to locate and filter the content of an XML document • Define XSLT style sheets to transform XML documents at the Web browser and Web server • Create and change XML structure by using XSLT • Use XSLT to merge different XML documents and generate cross-references between them • Create a Visual Basic application that uses the Simple API for XML (SAX) to access large XML documents.

MSC companyDirect engagement • An industry talk (2 hours) from MSC Malaysia company representative will be conducted during the training. • The talk will include the employment availability on the skill set trained to the trainees. • The speaker will indicate type of jobs available for trainees to apply once they graduated. For example, if the training provider is conducting a course on UNIX/LINUX, the speaker will indicate the type of job that require UNIX/LINUX skills . • The session will be conducted within the 20 days training based on the availability of the speaker
