  3. Weathering Weathering is the breaking down or dissolving of rocks and minerals at or near the Earth's surface. Weathering is           aka   Saprolite

  4. WHAT ARE THE 2 MAIN TYPES OF WEATHERING? Biological Weathering Chemical Weathering Have backups Fly during nap time Make a budget there are 2 main types and is divided into the processes of mechanical weathering and chemical weathering. there is this one called physical but we are not going to learn this yet.

  5. BIOLOGICAL WEATHERING is the breakdown of rock caused by the action of living organisms, including plants, burrowing animals, and lichens. CHEMICAL WEATHERING is where the rock material is changed into another substance by reacting with a chemical.

  6. THE AGENTS OF WEATHERING MEDIUM TEXT MEDIUM TEXT MEDIUM TEXT MEDIUM TEXT Under Ground Water

  7. Physical Weathering is also known as Mechanical Weathering. it is caused by the changes of temperature. Due to expansion and contraction rocks break up. Physical weathering Physical weathering, is a process that causes the disintegration of rocks, mineral, and soils without chemical change. Physical Weathering happen due to the process of Changing of Temperature Freezing action of water Roots growing plants which disintegrate rocks

  8. Types of Chemical Weathering 1. MEDIUM TEXT ▸ It is refers to the dissolution of soluble particles and minerals from the rocks. 2. MEDIUM TEXT ▸ It is a reaction of atmospheric oxygen to from oxides. 3. MEDIUM TEXT ▸ It is a reaction of carbonate or bicarbonate ions with minerals. 4.MEDIUM TEXT ▸ The process of hydration is related to the addition of water to the minerals.

  9. Lets try to answer this! 1. Choose or : TRUE MEDIUM TEXT Plants growing on the rock are one of the main sources of biological weathering. 2. Physical weathering is also known as_____ a.Mass weathering c.Mechanical weathering b.Material weathering d.Monitor weathering
