What is Menopause?

Menopause refers to final cessation of menstruation while climacteric means the period at which the woman gradually changes from the reproductive life into one of senescence. It is a stage in a womanu2019s life when her fertility cycle ends; it is during this stage that ovaries halted producing the hormone estrogen and the reproductive cycle starts to deteriorate.   2. Menopause refers to final cessation of menstruation while climacteric means the period at which the woman gradually changes from the reproductive life into one of senescence. It is a stage in a woman’s life when her fertility cycle ends; it is during this stage that ovaries halted producing the hormone estrogen and the reproductive cycle starts to deteriorate. Generally, when a woman reaches the age of 50, they may experience symptoms of menopause.

  3. Sign and Symptoms of Menopause are • Menopause symptoms are usually evident at varied levels in women. In some women the symptoms may be more defined and extreme like severe hot flashes, night sweats and irregular vaginal bleeding. Emotional and psychological symptoms are also very common like irritability and sudden mood swings. Other women may experience cognitive symptoms for menopause like memory issues, vision problems, confusion and fatigue. • Menopause may also cause symptoms like urinary tract infections, vaginal itching, vaginal dryness, frequent urination and sometimes even an unusual leakage of urine. The sudden decline of estrogen levels also causes menopause symptoms like weight gain, adult acne, unwanted hair growth on face and body, dry skin and sudden appearance of wrinkles.
