  2. Stocks in Question Nike Inc. (NKE) Adidas (ADDDF) Asics Corp (ASI1) All three of the these stocks are also in the Consumer Cyclical Sector. These stocks were chosen because they provided 5 years of consistent data to be able to make informed decisions before buying into the stocks.

  3. Evaluations Process • When evaluating stocks there are a few factors that can help you choose the best stock from a group of companies in the same sector. • The first 3 factors to consider are the Price per Earnings Ratio, Earnings per Share, and Dividends per share. • The Fourth factor was Revenue. Based off the revenue reports off the last 5 years we will be able to see if the company is indeed growing if annually the number are increasing. • The fifth factor was Net Income. For the same reasons as Revenue.

  4. Nike History Caroline Davis student at Portland State met with Phil Knight while doing accounting classes and freelance work for him. She came up with the swoosh on the side of the shoe and he handed her 35 dollars at the time. Eventually Phil would develop the shoe and introduce it to Bowerman who coached at Oregon. Phil and Bowerman came up with ways to make lighter more durable shoes. This caught the eyes of other organizations and a new breed of shoe was born. Through promotion and advertising Nike would become the highest grossing shoe to be sold. Interesting Fact: Spawns from the goddess of victory back during Greek mythology. The swoosh symbols symbolizes the winged goddess

  5. Adidas History In 1924, in a small German village by the name of Herzogenaurach, adidas' founder (Adolf "Adi" Dassler) wanted to give the world it's first taste of Adidas. He felt there was a need for a good athletic shoe. He started with soccer shoes as well as running shoes. Interesting Fact: The founders of Puma, Rudolf Dassler, is the brother of Adidas fonder Adolf "Adi" Dassler. He decided to leave the company after a dispute with his brother in 1948. Though Adidas does about four times Puma’s numbers Puma is still a top brand around the world.

  6. Asics History After being failing in war in 1945, KihachiroOnitsuka worked as a "salaryman" at a trading company in the city of Kobe. For about three years before he decided to form his own company and produced sneakers for schoolchildren. In September 1949 he established Onitsuka Co., Ltd. with a capital of 300,000 and four employees. Later he decided to start make sport shoes and which helped Asics boom in the 60’s-70’s Interesting Fact: In 1963 right before Nike’s owner Phil Knight graduated from Stanford he went and visited Japan. In Japan Knight met with Onitsuka and was a big fan of his shoe in which he almost bought Asics.
