Ban Ki-moon is the current Secretary - General of the UN. • There are 193 member countries in The UN. • The UN headquarters is  located on an 18-acre site on the East side of Manhattan.  • The four major organs of the UN are: The General Assembly The Security Council The Economic and Social council The International Court of Justice Council Leadership, Membership, & Organization

  4. The overall mission of the united nations to ensure that the world run properly without major violence and provide freedom for every one. The UN: • Issues peace • Applies justice • Maintains the world’s economy. • Enforces social and cultural rights of individuals. Purpose/Mission

  5. The General Assembly decides in every issue covered by the UN. • All 193 country members are part of the General assembly. • Each country gets One vote. • Decisions are made by majority of state’s vote or President’s and delegation’s consideration. General assembly

  6. Permanent members: China, France, Russian Federation, The United Kingdom and The United States. • 15 country members • Purposes: International peace, security, human rights, harmony, problem solving. Security Council

The UN is an International organization that sustain the world. • The main focuses of the UN are peace wise, social wise, justice wise and economic Wise. • The UN is divided in many pieces, and each one of them covers an area In the world. • Almost every area of the world is covered by the United Nations.
