  7. Navigation & Mobile (Carter Williams) Dinner: A Love Story- · Background is easy on the eyes · Menu font easy to read, stick out well · Pictures are a tad big, lots of scrolling · Not enough categories, difficult to find what you are looking for · Mobile is clean on phone; very similar to desktop (explains loading times) The Kitchn- · Clean besides ads on the right · Post font gives a nice “off-the-grid” feeling, menu fonts are thin · Colors are difficult to read (links are yellow, orange) · Lots of categories (good & bad), overall good · Mobile web is much cleaner than desktop; everything is “touchable”

  8. writing style The kitchn: • The kitchn uses a more direct, how-to style of writing with steps and guidelines in order to make your product. With less storytelling and a more direct approach, it is simple and easy to follow the examples if you don’t want to read a story as well.If you are more interested in just getting the recipe and cooking your meal, without an interesting story to go with it, this is the way to go. D:ALS: • She uses a really descriptive, story telling type of writing that perfectly shows you how to craft your recipe. It almost feels like you are actually watching her cook through her stories about making lunch or dinner for her family. If you enjoy reading memoir type books, this website is really good at making you feel immersed in the area that Jenny cooks in.
