  3. Take out your BBC news story and read it carefully. If you don’t know a word, use these resources to look it up. You are notallowed to use dictionaries or dictionary websites! • http://www.lexchecker.org/ • http://forbetterenglish.com/ • http://193.133.140.102/JustTheWord/ • And Google image search, of course! • What can you learn that is different from consulting a dictionary? • Which site gives the most useful information?

Copy your story from the web, and paste it in these places: • http://www.nottingham.ac.uk/~alzsh3/acvocab/awlgapmaker.htm • http://www.lextutor.ca/concordancers/text_concord/ • Then follow the instructions, or play. • Then on the Lextutor site please look at • Corpus grammar • Group lex • Test your lexis (“Associates test” is pretty tough!)
