  3. Focus and rationale of this project • Focus: To make an inventory of agricultural projects(this is a start, we will expand to other sectors later;) that have interesting information and communication technology for development (ICT4D) and Knowledge management or communication projects – which are currently functional across the country • Rationale: • Know who’s doing what where • Find out about interesting approaches, methods and tools • Encourage learning across initiatives (around common challenges) and avoid duplication of efforts (around common opportunities) • Match-making and joint project opportunities might open an opportunity to join forces among projects that work with similar goal ?

  4. Methodology used . Data collected from information Agency like MCIT • Informal interview also called semi-structured interviews among individuals • Internet browsing • Observation • Telephone interviews among program partners • Email exchange with program directors and evaluators • Feedback from KM4Dev group to improve this work • Formation of an informal task force • Development of Google doc to list projects

  5. Feedback from KM4Dev group • Focus on KM projects not just ICT • Which services are being developed / used where? • Commercial and non-commercial projects; • Develop a central/accessible place to access this information – with possibility to upload info onto it; • Carry out target groups’ needs assessment; • Carry out project impact assessment; • Each of our organization to contribute information about ‘champion’ projects we know.

  6. Feedback we received • What we Included: • Created accessible place to upload information which is the Google doc • Considered KM related activity • Outlined information we seek from the projects • Contributed one or more projects from our own organization or that we know very well What we are not going to do: • Needs assessment • Impact assessment • Commercial projects (unless for development) • What we will do later: • Considering outcomes and impact of these projects • Scaling up (considering the scale of intervention) • Expanding to other sectors and initiatives • Developing an ICT tool for the mapping and matchmaking?

  9. Overview of projects on Google doc • What

  10. How you can contribute to this: • Now: • Provide names of interesting projects (in this scope) • (if possible) Highlight ‘unique selling point’ (USP) and/or interesting insights • Select – together – the USP and insight you’d like to discuss at the next gathering • In the future: • Fill out other details on the Google doc • Join our group? • Help develop other sub-projects (e.g. mapping other sectors’ projects, working on ICT tool etc.)
