  1. Winter Checklist For Your Dog

  2. 1 PUT ON EXTRA CLOTHING Pet owners should keep their dogs dressed all the times during winter as because their natural immunity to bear the cold temperature is very low. Some owners like to keep their dogs natural by not putting on any clothing but if your furry friend is old then it becomes extremely important to add on extra clothing.

  3. 2 KEEP YOUR DOG ON LEASH Always keep your dog on a leash during the winter season. If they run out from your house then it may become difficult for them to sniff their path back in the snow. Winter season is bad for their sense of smell and so you should keep your doors and windows closed or keep them leashed.

  4. 3 BRUSH YOUR DOGS ON REGULAR BASIS Some pet parents skip giving the bath to their dogs in cold weather as they fear that it may make them ill. However, the dead fur on your dog still needs to be removed. Try to find out some time to brush your canine on a regular basis and keep their coat smooth, untangled and clean.

  5. 4 PROVIDE HIGH PROTEIN FOOD It is important to provide high protein food for your canine in order to keep winter anxiety or any joint problems at bay. Also, rich protein content in the food will keep the body warm. Cooked chicken, meat, fish or eggs are best sources of protein food in cold weather.

  6. 5 PROPER EXERCISE FOR PETS Pet owners may get lazy during winter season and skip taking their dogs for walks and workouts. This is bad for both the pet parents and their dogs. Less exercise means more obesity for your dog which will result in shorter life span. Make sure to workout your dogs indoor if going outdoors is not possible for you. Some simple activities and daily routines will ensure that they remain fit all the time.
