The water is passed through the folds, and the debris and dirt get trapped in the centre folds. The cartridges need cleaning two to three times a year if the pool is being used throughout the year. The cartridges need to be degreased once a year. Chemicals used in the cosmetics like sunscreen, oils, etc. stick to the filter surface, making them ineffective. The cartridges are easy to replace and need replacement only once in 4-8 years if maintained properly.
