  6. Alligator Pot Holes Alligator pot holes are home to of course the Alligator. The Alligator digs a fairly large hole which is the pot hole part. When dry season comes all the fish and animals that need to stay under water collect in the Alligator Hole because that is where all the water collects because it is the lowest area.

  8. Wet Season The Everglades are hot and humid from May through November. With average highs of 90 F and humidity over 90%. Afternoon thunderstorms can be expected daily also dropping heavy rainfalls that subside quickly. And the threat of tropical storms and hurricanes remains a constant concern.   Wet conditions and higher temperatures bring about significant changes in the Everglades landscape.  As water levels rise animals disperse, making wildlife viewing a difficult endeavor.  All the mosquitos love the weather so they come out and people slather therselves in bug repelant.

  9. Dry Season The Everglades are mild and pleasant from December through April, with low humidity and clear skies. It reaches a high of 77 f with low of 53 f. Though strong cold fronts may occasionally create near freezing conditions, such events are rare in this subtropical climate. Dry conditions and lower temperatures also bring about significant changes in the Everglades landscape. All those mosquitos and bitting fleas dissipear! Which is a very good thind for us people who hate those lil’ things. As the water levels drop large numbers of animals collect in water holes such as an alligator hole. This makes them really easy to see.

  10. Our Opinion!!!!!! We both loved studying about the everglades. It was a great experience and we would love to do it again.
