  1. What is the Lufthansa Dog Policy? Lufthansa is the largest German airline and, when all of their subsidiaries Lufthansa Pet Policy are added together, the largest airline in Europe. They welcome pets in the cabin and hold on a number of their flights. Pet Flight Reservations in Lufthansa Per passenger, only two pets are permitted on board. As soon as your travel plans are confirmed, call the Lufthansa Reservations Team at +1-844-902-4930 to let them know you'll be traveling with your pet. Lufthansa in cabin pet Policy Dogs and cats are welcome in the cabin if the combined weight of the pet and carrier is under 17 lbs (8 kg). Each passenger is allowed to bring 2 animals in the cabin each. They must be stowed in their carrier under the seat in front of you while you're in the air. The fee for pets traveling in the cabin is 50 EUR within Europe and 70 EUR for intercontinental trips (charged once per flight direction). Pets in checked baggage policy for Lufthansa If the combined weight of your pet and carrier is over 17 lbs (8 kg), your pet can be transported in the air- conditioned cargo hold instead. Just like the cabin, each passenger can only bring 2 animals in the cargo hold (in one or two approved carriers). For flights inside Europe, the price is 100 EUR, while for trips across continents, it is 150 EUR. For trips inside Europe, the price is 200 EUR, while for intercontinental flights, it is 300 EUR. Lufthansa in Cargo Pet Policy Dogs who are too large to fit in a larger carrier or who are traveling alone must be transported as cargo. You'll need a professional forwarding agent for this. If you have any questions about the cargo service, you can call Lufthansa Cargo directly at +1-844-902-4930. Lufthansa Pet Travel Policy - Carrier Guidelines Carrier dimensions for small dogs and cats traveling in the cabin must not exceed 22" x 16" x 9". (55 cm x 40 cm x 23 cm). They must also be impenetrable to escape, leak, and bite. Medium carriers can be up to 24" x 18" x 16" (60 cm x 45 cm x 40 cm) for pets traveling in the cargo hold, while larger carriers can be up to 49" x 29" x 33" (125 cm x 75 cm x 85 cm). Food and water containers must be attached, as well as sufficient ventilation and a safe locking system. Lufthansa Pet Travel Policy - More Other Restrictions Fighting or dangerous dogs, such as the American Pit Bull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier, Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Bull Terrier, American Bulldog, Dogo Argentino, Karabash (Kangal) (Anatolian Shepherd Dog), Caucasian Ovcharka (Caucasian Shepherd Dog), and Rottweilers, must be transported in special hold crates (except dogs between the ages of 3 and 6 months, who can be transported in regular crates).
