  4. Hot Topics! File Submissions / PID Updates • PID Updates for PEIMS Data Files. Effective with this release (10/08/07), PID updates sent via PEIMS data files (batch process) will follow the same 14-day business rule as PID Maintenance (online), i.e., updates can only be made to a specific PID record every 14 days • File Submissions. The final week before 1st Submission closes, EDIT+ experiences an extremely high volume of file transfers. Due to the impact this high volume has on statewide processing , please do not wait until the final week to submit your files. • The EDIT+ Release Letter provides this type of important information regarding each current EDIT+ release. Please have your districts and campuses check the Home page of the EDIT+ external website at .www.tea.state.tx.us/peims/editplus/index.html each Fall and Spring for a copy of the Release Letter. EDIT+ Standard Reports Page: New ‘Look’ and Function for Columns • Collapsible Report Categories – Arrowheads in the left margin of each report category header indicate the category is collapsible; up arrows, the category is expanded; down arrows, the category is collapsed. • Last Accessed – The ‘Last Accessed’ column replaces the ‘Date Run’ column and displays the date the report was last generated (accessed). The information formerly displayed in the ‘Date Run’ column is no longer displayed on the page however it is stored in the report history and accessible to EDIT+ Customer Support. • Accessed By – The ‘Accessed By’ column replaces the ‘Run By’ column and displays who the last person was to generate the report. • Action – The ‘Action’ column is a new column and provides the interface for generating reports on demand. The old ‘On Demand’ button has been replaced with a green triangle button indicating when a report is available to run. Once a report is complete and available for viewing, a PDF icon displays in this column (replacing the underlined report name as an indication that the report is available for viewing). The ‘Action’ column also displays the ‘Create Bundle’ button; currently, the bundle functionality remains the same. • Details – The ‘Details’ column is a new column and provides the interface for generating reports by campus; currently, the campus-level reports functionality remains the same. • Other pages – There are development plans to make similar changes to the PET Reports, PET Error Reports, and PET Error Reports by Campus pages. 12. PET Parameter-Driven Reports: Report Request • Similar to EDIT+, PET users can now create custom report output from a selected list of PET reports. • If users have access to certain reports on the PET reports page, they have access to those same reports with parameter-driven functionality. • Reports are generated and saved based on your user login ID, therefore visible only to you. • Parameter-driven reports are school year-specific. Determine that you are in the correct school year for which you want to create a report request.Note: 2007-2008 is the first school year for which selected PET parameter-driven reports are available. • To generate, select My Report Requests from the Contents List on the PET home page. • The My Report Requests page displays. • Notice the page initially launches with no reports listed. • Select the Create Report Request button to create your first report. Figure 8. PET Home Page – My Report Requests Link Figure 9. PET Report Request – Initial Launch Note: For illustration purposes only. These pages are in development and could change slightly by release in October.

  13. PET Parameter-Driven Reports: Create Report • The Create Report Request page displays the PET Report groups. • If the page displays only report names with no filter or sort selections, then the only parameter option is the export parameter, i.e., the Save As type (.pdf, .xls, or.csv/report download, dependent upon report design). • Selecting a different report group (and/or category) displays additional report selections. • Select Save to generate report at a later time from the PET Report Request page. Select Save & Run to immediately generate report. • Once the report starts to process, details of the report request display on the My Report Requests page. The page automatically refreshes every 5 seconds. When no reports are processing, the page refreshes every 5 minutes. • When report processing is complete, an icon representing the output format displays in the View column. Selecting the icon enables you to open the report for viewing or save the report to your local machine. Figure 10. Create Report Request – Categories and Reports Figure 11.
