  2. “IIBC White Papers”: Background/Purpose • The purpose of the White Papers survey was to get feedback and suggestions from the IIBC membership regarding, • Identification of relevant "hot button" issues in the Intelligent Buildings market for new “IIBC White Papers” and analysis that would be of value to members and their organizations. • The survey was sent to all IIBC members via Constant Contact, with data collection occurring between April 12-26, 2012. The survey took approximately five (5) minutes to complete, with thirty (30) member respondents – 20% of the IIBC membership. 2

IIBC White Papers Sub-Committee: Recap and Progress Decided at May 9, 2012 IIBC Meeting: Recap: • Conduct “IIBC White Papers” survey twice per year (Spring and Fall) to refresh ideas and feedback and to identify new areas of interest that are timely and relevant to the membership. • Initial focus on completion of top three favored White Papers; • ROI analysis to quantify benefits of implementing fully converged technology in building automation, security & IT infrastructure • Commercial energy management using cloud technology • Impact of wireless on equipment (HVAC, security, life safety, lighting, etc.) in building automation layer 3

IIBC White Papers Sub-Committee: Recap and Progress (Continued) Progress: • The Sub-Committee held its first meeting on June 27, 2012. • Agreed that IIBC White papers be developed for Sub-Committee members, the IIBC and industry participants free of charge • White Papers would reside in the CABA Public Research Library • Decided that in addition to the list of White Paper vendors developed - academic institutions be identified and added to the potential vendors list • Accepted that each of the three identified White Papers have a dedicated Working Group of volunteer “Subject Matter Experts” (SMEs) to work on development in conjunction with research vendors, member information services and member academic institutions • Agreed that Sub-Committee appoint a Chair and that Working Group organization and vendor outreach begin as soon as possible • Agreed that Sub-Committee coordinates production of White Papers and provide update reports at subsequent IIBC meetings – for feedback and generation of new ideas 4

IIBC White Papers Sub-Committee: Developments • Developments: • White Papers Sub-Committee appoint a Chair – Kyle McNamara, Managing Principal, Global Energy & Utilities Vertical, Verizon Enterprise Solutions – next Sub-Committee meeting to be convened shortly • White Papers Sub-Committee draft a Terms of Reference – document completed, to be reviewed at next Sub-Committee meeting • Have all Sub-Committee members (SMEs) select and join preferred Working Groups – in progress • White Papers Sub-Committee draft “Vendor/Information Services Letter” and “Vendor Application” and send to vendors – documents completed, vendor recruitment/participation in progress • Working Group members (SMEs)/Teams develop, define and approve specific White Paper criteria via “Needs Assessment and Objectives” form – document completed, SME submissions in progress • Working Groups set timeframe for completion of White Papers with vendors – in progress 5

IIBC White Papers Sub-Committee: Next Steps • Tasks: • Work with White Papers Sub-Committee Chair – convenenext Sub-Committee meeting shortly • Work with Sub-Committee SMEs – continue to have them join specific Working Groups (“Impact of Wireless” and “Converged Technology ROI Analysis” in particular) and complete White Papers “Needs Assessment and Objectives” for all • Continue to recruit vendors on to the initiative – ideally, 2 more for Working Groups – “Impact of Wireless” and “Converged Technology ROI Analysis” • Begin work on “Cloud and Commercial Energy Management” – SMEs and IDC – set timeframe and process for completion 7
