  1. The Qin Dynasty of Ancient China By: Wil Schikorra -Social Studies, 7th Hour-

  2. -Introduction- Qin Ruled China and had made great achievements such as The Great Wall of China, unified China, and how Qin used Legalism in a harsh way.

  3. -The Unification of China- No matter what happens, people would be treated all in the same way. That means equal laws for everyone. Most laws regarded the government officials. Some laws would include that if you let grain spoil or a wall collapsed under their supervision. (Web) The Qin dynasty were mainly known as the great, evil dynasty. Even though it was an evil dynasty they still unified China in 221 BC. As soon as China became unified, they became very powerful and a wealthy dynasty.

  4. -The Great Wall of China- Qin wanted perfection in China. Soon, he decided to build the Great Wall of China. When he had it built, he used many men. But this came with a price… Many had died just in the building the wall. (Web) When the Great Wall was built, hundreds of thousands of peasants were collected and helped built it. The builders used millions of tons of stone, dirt, and rubble just to build the core of “The Wall” Slabs of cut stone on the outside of the wall enclosed a heap of pebbles and rubble on the inside of the wall. The great wall was a height of 20 to 25 feet!

  5. -Legalism and Harsh Punishments- Since Qin ruled legalism style, he was VERY strict. Qin had no tolerance for people not following laws. If people didn’t want legalism, they would be killed. If books existed, he would burn them. (Web) Qin ran his dynasty with control and harsh punishments. If you were to whine about the government, it would be considered illegal. If you suggested a change, you would be possibly killed.

  6. -Conclusion- Qin was well known for being the very first emperor of Ancient China and was the first to unify Ancient China.
