  2. Contents • Decay Solenoid • Electron Peak • Muon Peak • Slab Hits • Appendix Slide 2

  3. Decay Solenoid (DS) • DS current reference at 669 Amps(run 2200) • DS current varied from -15% to +20% • TofTree and TofTrace ran on data to extract mean of x,y and the spread of the beam (σ) Slide 3

  8. Electron Peak • Value of electron peak investigated for runs 1592-2895 • Value expected to stay constant as electrons are relativistic • Missing data given in appendix • TofTree code modified and ran on data • Electron data fitted with Gaussian curve (see graph) Slide 8

  9. Slide 9

  10. Electron Peak • Data extracted include mean with associated error and the number of the electrons • Data with 10 counts or less eliminated from graph and also bad fits Slide 10

  11. Results Mean 25.48 S.D. 0.04 Slide 11

  13. Backward calculation showed the electrons to have a velocity larger than speed of light Distance – 7764 mm Average time – 25.48 ns Speed – 1.017 c Slide 13

  14. Muon Peak • Data analysed for reference runs (see appendix for list of reference run numbers) • TofTree ran on data with mean, count and most probable extracted • No fitting was done in this case because of the lack of a suitable theoretical fit Slide 14

  20. Slab hits • Data analysed for reference runs • Data extracted for successful slab hits (green) for Tof0(10slabs), Tof1(7slabs), Tof2(10slabs) Slide 20
