  1. “Pre-proposal Idea” Semantic Web Services with Constraints Policy for P2P (Grid) Systems Prof. (Dr.) Yuh-Jong Hu Dept. of Computer Science, National Chengchi University, Taiwanhu@cs.nccu.edu.tw • “Pre-proposal Idea” scope & objective – • The marriage of semantic web and web services (SWS) has been considered as one of the most important research areas to lift off semantic web vision on the WWW. The semantic web services will be a runaway train if we do not have any constraints for the entire service processes because security, privacy, QoS, and services monitoring control can not be enforced and implemented. Unfortunately people did not pay much attention on this issue until recently so the results are very scarce and primitive. The service constraints are usually defined as policies that can be specified by combination of ontologies and rules. Therefore the OWL Rule Language (ORL) will be the best candidate to declare semantic web service policy. Furthermore, if SWS is developed and enforced in the P2P (or Grid) systems then service infrastructure is more complex and dynamic than the WWW on resources naming, policy management and enforcement. We are planning to apply SWS technology on applications, such as EGovernment or Digital Rights Management (DRM) for P2P (Grid) systems to demonstrate the feasibility of this technology. • Brief description of the “pre-proposal idea” • Activity 1: Semantic overlay P2P (or Grid) framework construction for SWS • Activity 2: Declare and represent service constraint policies based on ORL for SWS • Activity 3: Naming, addressing and searching of services and constraints for P2P (Grid) systems • Activity 4: SWS constraints policy management and enforcement • Activity 5: SWS for EGovernment or DRM applications development
