  3. Promotion / Relegation Season ’13/14 Junior League 1A will contain 9 teams The plan is to bring this back to 8 teams for season ’14/’15 The following are the options we propose: 1. Bottom 2 teams in J1A are automatically relegated to J1B Top team in J1B gains automatic promotion to J1A Play off between third last team in J1A and 2ND team in 1B 2. Bottom 2 teams in J1A are automatically relegated to J1B Top team in J1B gains automatic promotion to J1A Only one team from any club is permitted to plan in J1A, J1B & J1C

J1C League Currently 6 teams in Season ’13/’14 J1B League Proposal: 10 Round (5 Home & 5 Away) Top 4 Playoff (semi-final – Final) Proposed Promotion Regulation 1B/1C Bottom 2 teams J1B Regulated Top team in J1C automatically promoted Play off between third last team in J1B and 2ND team in J1C (beaten finalist)

Cawley Cup Due to the increased number of teams failing to furfill fixtures in the Cawley Cup competition We are proposing the following: Cawley Cup All Junior club teams in J1A (excluding the Connacht nominee for AIL Round Robin competition) & the top 2 Junior Team in 1B bases on will field in the Cawley Cup (9 Teams) Cawley Shield The remaining 4 Junior Teams in JIB & all 5 Junior Teams in J1C will compete for the Cawley Shield (9 Teams) All positions are decided based on Junior League standings at the end of the league season ’13/’14

Transfers Due to the increasing number of transfer requests submitted during season ’12/’13 we are proposing the following amendment to the regulations Transfers allow in the J1A/J1B & J1C Leagues up to 1ST October provided the player involved hasn’t started in the Connacht league already in the season. There will be a transfer window between 8th Dec 2013 to the 6th January 2014 This will allow players who haven’t play in Junior Qualifying League Rugby or Provincial Junior Cup competitions to apply for transfer during this period All transfers are subject criteria set out on the Connacht Branch Competition Regulations

  7. Saturday Rugby In our recent Players & Coaches Survey we received the following results: 84.9% of Players & 76% of Coaches stated they would prefer to play rugby on Saturdays. Based on your feedback we are proposing the following: The default KO time will move to Saturday at 2.30pm (w) 3.pm (s) This will apply to J1A, J1B & JIC A change to the new default time/day may be approved, provided it is agreed by both clubs and communicated to the branch before to 12pm on the Tuesday prior to the fixture

  8. Yellow Card Sanction If a player is awarded 3 Yellow Cards in a 12 week period, they will receive an automatic 1 match suspension. Applies to cards collected in both Connacht Junior League & Cup competitions

  9. Failing to Field Cup Competitions Fixture may awarded to opposite team League Competitions Match will be re-fixed The follow sanctions may apply 1. Loss of home fixture 2. Reduction of League Points 3. Or other sanction deemed appropriate by the Competitions Committee

  10. Teams on Level Points In the event of two teams finishing on equal points, team will be separated as follows: 1. Points difference 2. Greater number of tries scored 3. Greater of points scored In the event of all these been equal a playoff will be held at a neutral venue to decide the winner
