Information Interests: Baseball Birthday: April 9, 1991 Relationship Status: Single Religion: Catholic Hometown: Coamo, Puerto Rico Carson Kinsley to Tony Hernandez I guess the fact is that we take our freedom for granted. We can’t wrap our minds around the fact that there are people who can’t/don’t have the choices we do. Tony Hernandez Mother finally found a job after 1 year of unemployment! Tony Hernandez The Olympics are important to everyone, but if they are so important, why did America choose to boycott the 1980 Olympics? YouTube video on gymnasts opinions on the boycott- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-gOtwbYiRfM Carson Kinsley to Tony Hernandez The US decided to boycott the 1980 Olympics because the Soviet Union invaded Afghanistan to make it a communist nation. The US doesn’t believe in communism so we showed this by withdrawing from the games. More than 60 other nations did not compete in the games. Friends Tony HernandezWhy are all American's selfish? All they care about is what they want and they never realize that what they have is more than what most people have. Jake Sarah Mary Carson Kinsley to Tony Hernandez I think generalizing that all Americans’ are selfish is a little bit of a stereotype. Yes, there are lot’s of people who have a lot more than other people, but a lot of people help out those people who need more. It’s hard to realize how much you really have until you lose it all. Here is a great article that relates baseball and politics. Who know those two could go together and be interesting! http://www.jamesrobison.net/?q=node/104 Information Carson Kinsley to Tony Hernandez I couldn’t agree more! It’s really interesting that you said this because I know gymnastics is an individual sport so there really isn’t much teamwork, but when we all have to hit a certain number or stick our skills it’s really helpful to have teammates cheering you on and encouraging you. I also play lacrosse, and teamwork is a HUGE aspect. If you don’t have teamwork it’s impossible to get anything accomplished. You have to work as a team in order to achieve your goals. I think this quote says it best, “Teamwork is the ability to work together toward a common vision. The ability to direct individual accomplishments toward organizational objectives. It is the fuel that allows common people to attain uncommon results” –Andrew Carnegie Interests: Baseball Birthday: April 9, 1991 Relationship Status: Single Religion: Catholic Hometown: Coamo, Puerto Rico Tony Hernandez Mother finally found a job after 1 year of unemployment! Friends Tony Hernandez  Today at practice, I found out that one of my teammates has to move because both their parents lost their jobs. It is always hard to say good bye to a friend. Carson Kinsley to Tony Hernandez I’m really sorry…the same thing happened to me last week. Gymnastics is so expensive and with the recession here lot’s of families are losing their jobs, so they can’t keep paying for their child to practice, and compete. Turns out a lot of this is going on pretty much everywhere. It really stinks that talented people have to stop what they love to do just because they can’t pay for it…it’s so unfortunate. Do you know why? http://rokdrop.com/2010/04/29/china-stripped-of-2000-olympic-gymnastics-medals-why-not-2008/ Information Carson Kinsley to Tony Hernandez Oh my gosh! The whole Chinese gymnasts getting their medals recalled is because they might be underage! You have to be 16 to compete at the Olympics and a lot of countries don’t believe that they are actually 16. It’s pretty crazy to think that such a powerful country would put in athlete’s who are underage just so they can win. Interests: Baseball Birthday: April 9, 1991 Relationship Status: Single Religion: Catholic Hometown: Coamo, Puerto Rico Tony Hernandez I’ve been interested in gymnastics lately because of you. I watched these videos on YouTube and was wondering if you knew a lot about gymnastics in other cultures like England and China? I was curious how it may relate to you. Chinese Gymnasts- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K3dsoIreP0AEngland Gymnasts- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oi2bcCpV4SI Tony Hernandez Mother finally found a job after 1 year of unemployment! Friends Carson Kinsley to Tony Hernandez That is actually really interesting! I know all types of sports change throughout different cultures. Like I know that baseball is probably a lot different for you compared to what it is here! But anyways, gymnastics in other cultures…well gymnastics here is pretty good. A lot of people do it at a wide variety of levels. It’s intense, but the coaches allow kids to have more freedom with their lives and let them have fun. There’s an equal balance of fun and hard work, and kids can choose to do gymnastics and they choose how far they want to go. The big question in the US is always, “are you having fun?”. In the US sports are all about “having fun”. Gymnastics in China is way different though. The kids are taken from their homes and families at a young age and built into gymnasts. They have extremely difficult work outs, but they have no choice but to work hard and succeed because their parents depend on them for money and food, etc. It’s completely different than here. I know that gymnastics in England is basically the same thing as it is here, except they are a little more strict with their picking process. Jake Sarah Mary Greg Kenny John

I WILL make it, so stop. Information Carson Kinsley to Tony Hernandez I love that you have such a positive attitude. Positive thinking can take you really far in anything you do. Stay positive even when people try to get you down. Don’t give up. You can do anything you put your mind to. Tony Hernandez What’s the most popular sport in the world? Carson Kinsley to Tony Hernandez I believe soccer is the most popular sport in the world. It’s amazing how fast things like sports diffuse and globalize. Here is a list of the top 5 sports in the world- http://www.mostpopularsports.net/ Friends Tony HernandezIn different countries, sports mean different things. Why is that? Jake Sarah Mary Carson Kinsley to Tony Hernandez Well in most parts of America sports are just something fun kids do in their free time, or it’s something people do to get money-it’s their job. In a lot of other countries I know sports are the only way out of poverty, or they are the only way a person can get an education. All over the world sports mean different things to people’s life styles and their well beings. Greg Kenny John

Man does that look easy. Information Carson Kinsley to Tony Hernandez I don’t really know a whole lot about football or baseball but I think it’s kind of unfair to say that another sports looks easy if you’ve never played it or done it before. All sports push athletes’ physical limits to the edge. I don’t think there is one sport that is definitely harder than another. You always have to keep in mind the mental aspects and the physical aspects of sports that make them “hard” or “easy” for each person. Photos 2 Albums About Me La Familia Updated last Wednesday I am 17 years old, but soon to be 18! I am absolutely obsessed with baseball. It is my passion, it is my dream, it is my life. I live in a “bad” part of town and I hate it. No one should ever have to live the way I am. My parents can hardly pay the bills so we often live without electricity or running water. It sucks. However, we don’t have it nearly as bad as some of my friends. They can’t even afford the basic necessities like food. The only food they get in a day is the food from our high school cafeteria, and that is nasty, no offence lunch ladies. School is important to me. I WANT to get my high school diploma, and I WANT to go to college, but the only thing that would stop me from doing that is following my dream of becoming a professional baseball player. I will do what ever it takes to fulfill my dream. Homerun Time? Updated two weeks ago
