  1. SINAMICS DCC Harmonic Wave Compensation V1.0

  2. Basics Basics • Objective: Compensation of periodic torque harmonic waves for advanced rotation quality • The standard application „harmonic wave compensation“ is available for SINAMICS with DCC • No additional licenses are required for the customer • Straight forward parameterization and adaptation of the application for customer machines Why harmonic wave compensation Operation Structural overview Result

  3. Why harmonic wave compensation Basics • Three essential harmonic waves occur due to the mechanics of the machine: • Pole frequency • Cogging frequency • Cogging edge frequency = 2 • cogging frequency • Further additional harmonics: • Couplings • Gearings etc. Why harmonic wave compensation Operation Structural overview Result

  4. Operation Basics • Usage of the harmonic wave compensation for: • Motors with distinctive oscillating torques (direct drives like torque motors and linear motors) • Low performance servo motors • Slowly turning motors • Harmonic wave compensation up to frequencies of 100Hz • Torque controlled drives • Compensation of the disturbance torques Why harmonic wave compensation Operation Structural overview Result

  5. Operation Basics • By using the application the harmonic waves can be counteracted - therefore: • Relief of the speed controller • Reducing of harmonic waves in the speed • Features of the application: • Flexible adaptation to the respective machine • Independent compensation of up to three sinusoidal periodic torque harmonics (amplitude, phasing and frequency can be established by means of the FFT curve) • Possibility of pre-controlling periodic disturbance torques per load revolution via a freely parameterized curve block • Pre-control of the torque deviation depending on the position information of the load Why harmonic wave compensation Operation Structural overview Result

  6. Structural overview Basics Why harmonic wave compensation DCC application Operation Structural overview Result SINAMICS drive motor

  8. Result Basics • FFT-analysis of the actual motor speed Why harmonic wave compensation Operation Structural overview Result 2nd distinctive harmonic 1st distinctive harmonic 3rd distinctive harmonic

  9. Result Basics • Speed ripples without compensation • _____ Transformation angle • _____ Actual speed Why harmonic wave compensation Operation Structural overview Result

  10. Result Basics • Speed ripples with compensation of the harmonics • _____ Transformation angle • _____ Actual speed Why harmonic wave compensation Operation Structural overview Result

  11. Result Basics • Comparison of the speed ripples • _____ Speed ripples without compensation • _____ Speed ripples with compensation of the harmonics Why harmonic wave compensation Operation Structural overview Result
