  1. How to use this document At each of the steps to Paperless Day and beyond (as outlined in the Action Plan) we would like you to record the information and activities that your organisation has undertaken and ultimately capture your paper saving on Paperless Day. Bring the case study to life through the use of photography, quotes from staff and information pullouts (facts, figures). Try and keep the information brief and to the point Where you might have a lot of information, try and summarise the information is a key information pullout. We will suggest places where you could include information pullout throughout this document Throughout this document we will give you hints and tips to help you create your case study. These will be in footers at the bottom of slides. After opening this file, save it as a copy so you can always go back to the original if you need to. Simply write over the current place holder text with the suggested content requirement. If possible, get someone to help write the content so that it creates a story and is not just a collection of information points. Nominate a photographer for the campaign or hold an in-house competition for the best photographs. Where possible take photographs where there is good lighting. This will make sure that the photographs are of a good quality. In your final submission document you will need to delete this page and the footers that contain the hints and tips and any suggested information pullout areas that you didn’t use. You can create the case study in English or Arabic

  2. What activities did you undertake to conduct the paper audit? What were your findings? Which departments were involved? Hints and ideas: Take pictures of the people conducting the audit. Try and capture the activity, but also the waste. This will help drive home the wasteful use issue with staff.

  3. What activities did you undertake to communicate the campaign internally? Which tools and resources did you use? Which departments were involved? Hints and ideas: Take pictures of the the office area where posters are up and reminders by printers. If you conducted workshops or presentations capture these too. Its great to have quotes from staff about how they will help make the campaign a success. Use more than one page if necessary.

  4. How did you save on wasteful paper use? What did you do as an organisation and as individuals? Which departments were involved and which performed the best? Hints and ideas: Take pictures of people not using paper. For example everyone using laptops in meetings or the champions regulating paper use. Capture stories of paper saving activities, by department or by individuals.

  5. On this page capture key figures and indicators for how you have reduce your wasteful paper use. Show the comparison of your original audit with the the use on the day. Hints and ideas: Keep the information short and specific. Use charts or tables to help organise the information.

  6. Share you stories of how you will keep your paperless story going throughout the year. What worked for your organisation that you can carry forward 365 days a year. Have you set new targets? Monthly, quarterly, yearly. Hints and ideas: Capture pledges from staff for what they will continue to do and what new they could do.
