  2. TONIGHT’S GOALS:-DISCUSS 2014/15 SCHEDULE-DISCUSS CURRICULAR OPTIONS-EXPLAIN THE 2014/15 SCHEDULING PROCEDUREANSWER QUESTIONS

  3. 2014/15 BELL SCHEDULE HIGHLIGHTS • Teaming was able to be kept • Student day is 8:25-3:24 (will help share bussing with Dover Intermediate) • ALL CLASSES (ALGEBRA I, HONORS GEOMETRY, HONORS PHYSICAL SCIENCE, GT LA) REMAIN • 1 bell schedule for the entire building • World language will be full year for both grade levels (Pink on the graph) • Band /Choir/Orchestra/PE/Art/Pre-Engineering/Intervention is all one period (blue on the graph) • Students will have to make choices during this blue block.  Not all students will get Art/PE/Pre-Engineering and conversely not all students will be required to take a music class. • Study halls (with the exception of Academic Assist) have been eliminated.  • Intervention is Monday/Wednesday/Friday at this point.  • CORE classes will be 55 minutes in length.

TESTING THAT ALL 6th GRADE STUDENTS TOOK • All 6th grade students were given IAAT Algebra Aptitude Test • 97% percentile qualifies you to be in Algebra I Scores of 85%-96% qualify your for a math class called Math 7B-8 All others will be in the grade level Math class Math 7.   6. What to expect with the scheduling procedure? REQUIRED CORE CURRICULUM * ELA, Math, Science, Social Studies, World Language, Exploratory Elec. Continued Progression: 7th graders taking Algebra I will take Honors Geometry 7th graders taking GT/ELA will take 8th grade GT/ELA Choices to be made: Math, World Language, Exploratory Elective - Music vs Non Music Option May 27 – Forms due in May 30 – Info pertaining to your child
