  2. Surveys • You should all have received a survey on your way in – please answer the questions and hand it to an officer on your way out so we can get some feedback and work on tailoring PittSASE to your interests!

National SASE is launching the Innoservice Design Project for only the NE region • (CMU, PSU, SUNY Binghamton, Cornell, etc.) • The Challenge: • Develop the next great consumer product that improves the lives of Asian consumers or solves a problem unique to the Asian environment. • This project is designed to: • •Provide avenue for students to showcase technical capability • •Enable students to experience the steps needed to deliver a product to market • •Help develop the “soft” skills involved with technical problems Innoservice Project 2012-2013

Each Team Must Contain: - 2-6 Students -Students must be current SASE members -Must attend chapter’s home school - 1-2 Mentors -Can be from academia or working professional Project Benefits • Showcase technical capabilities • Experience product development cycle • Interact with professionals in different areas of product development • Present and receive feedback from senior leadership in major corporations Innoservice Project 2012-2013

What Will Be Required • Product background • Technical aspects • Business model: Commercial/marketing/ • distribution plans • Estimated cost to produce • Prototype ($250 funding will be provided) • 5 min “Elevator Pitch” • Poster Presentation • Project Rewards • – 1st Place: $3000 (or $5000 – they haven’t decided yet) • – 2nd Place: $2000 • – 3rd Place: $1000 • And you will secure yourself a spot to go to the Regional Conference in the Spring! Some Ideas So Far: -Magnetic Coffee Stirrer -Single Serving Rice Cooker Insert -Automatic Rice Portioning Insert-And Your ideas! Sign up after the meeting with any of the officers!   6. Dinner with the Professors • Opening 1-2 more spots per professor • Event is Next Thursday (11/1) at 7pm in Benedum 102 • See officers after meeting for list of professors and to sign up!

  7. Hoagie Sale Fundraiser • Thursday 11AM-1PM on 1st floor of Benedum • $5 per hoagie (Italian, Turkey, and Ham!)

  8. Next GBM/Workshop • Tuesday, 11/6 – 9PM Benedum G28 • Handshake/Body Language Workshop • & Other Updates!
