ACGME General Competencies • Chairmen and Program Directors of the Chattanooga Unit appointed representatives from each department to discuss how to modify the Institutional Core Curriculum to augment each program’s efforts to incorporate these six general competency areas into the overall curriculum

  5. ACGME General Competencies Areas of concentration for the institution: • Interpersonal and communication skills • Professionalism • Systems-based practice Also some presentations in areas of • Patient care • Medical knowledge

  6. ACGME General Competencies Institutional Core Curriculum Grand Rounds: • Several Sessions each year (7 – 8 am), typically the 2nd Tuesday of a month • 1st, 2nd, and 3rd year residents required to attend • Videotapes will be made available • Brief post-test may be made part of the session

  7. ACGME General Competencies Institutional Core Curriculum Grand Rounds 2004 - 2005 • July 13, 2004 (Erlanger Pain Management) • August 14, 2004 (Domestic Violence) • September 14, 2004 (Physician Impairment) • October 2004 (To be determined) • November (Using humor in team building and patient care)
