  1. Do Now: Describe the following terms:- • Aim • Objective Lucy is 16 and has something she wants to achieve – to represent NZ at the Olympics. She currently plays for her school premier Hockey and Soccer teams and is close to being chosen to represent her province. Group Activity: Create:- An Aim 4 objectives for Lucy Why might there be a conflict amongst her aims and objectives. Do not copy this An aim is where the business wants to go in the future. It is a statement of purpose, e.g. we want to grow the business into Europe. Business objectives are the stated, measurable targets of how to achieve business aims. For instance, we want to achieve sales of €10 million in European markets in 2015.

Dress Designer • You will act as a business mentor for Jen. • Activity: Create:- • An Aim for her business. • Four Objectives for Jen’s Business (the objectives must be SMART), remember that Jen is just starting her business. • One of these objectives must be socially responsible. • Activity - Conflicting Objectives -Look back again at your objectives – do any conflict – If so explain why. • Activity – if Jen’s business is successful in the first year, explain a change she may wish to make to her aims and objectives.
