  5. 1 Problem = 1 Solution ELECTRIC ASSISTED BICYCLE • Autonomy : 40/60 km • regulated as a «normal» bicycle (allowed to use bike path) • charging time of 4/6 h • Same speed but low effort • Price 600/800 € A good compromise between tecnology and tradition … (data by Enel official site) ProEfficiency - Egomotion 2013

WHERE AND HOW • Pilot project: 100/200 bikes • Loan for bikes  50%of costs payed by Politecnico 50%of costs payed by students (in 5 years) • Free charge (0,12€) • government incentives corresponding to the 50% of the total cost for solar panels installation Location of the charging stations Solar Panels(2200 mq2) ProEfficiency - Egomotion 2013

Panels + bicycles = saving A solar panel (1kWp 7m2) in Torino produces about 1340 kWh per year 2200 mq2produce 421000kWh per year about 500kWh every 5 hours, average charging time Assuming a battery capacity about 10 Ah @ 36V, the requirement is about 72W Energy produced and not used, especially during summer, can be entered in the electricity grid or used by the Politecnico.   9. Further developments… The project could be extended to other universities and to new target groups and regions: World of work: every office or company that has available place. Possible use of the OGR for the creation of a ecological pole. (OGReen?) Integration with the TOBike service, by the installation of the charging stations in the current stations.
