NASA Operational Messaging and Directory (NOMAD) • An agency-wide messaging and collaboration system providing Email, Calendaring, Webmail (Outlook Web Access – OWA), Instant Messaging (Microsoft) and Exchange access for handheld mobile devices • Approximately 50,000 users across the Agency • Implemented a new and improved DR/COOP strategy • In the event of a hurricane or other disaster, users will have access to their full mailboxes with only a two hour outage window • Procured, installed and configured a state-of-the-art Wide Area Network (WAN) Accelerators to enhance log shipping across the WAN

NASA Operational Messaging and Directory (NOMAD) • Implemented a secure large file transfer solution using the Accellion Secure File Transfer appliance • The device uses a simple webmail interface • NASA users are able to send large files to both internal NASA users as well as external partners • Users are able to send large file up to 10gb

Outsourcing Desktop Initiative for NASA (ODIN) • Management and oversight for ODIN is provided by the ODIN Program Office • Successfully negotiated Delivery Order (DO) extensions • Seat pricing for the DOs is held constant at Year 3 (current) prices during the entire extension period (April 30, 2011) • Total Estimated Savings through ODIN Extension Period is $23.6M

Agency Programs Supported • Emerging Technology and Desktop Standards (ETADS) • Also referred to as the Desktop Standards group • Dedicated to the implementation of Agency projects related to standards for end-user computing, desktop security and system configuration • NASA Consolidated Active Directory (NCAD) • A single, centralized Active Directory forest for NASA • Directory structure used to store and manage information and data about networks and domains • The single, Agency-wide Active Directory environment enables all NASA user’s log-in process to be identical • Supports the Federal mandate for NASA Smartcards

  7. Agency Enhancements • Secure WebEx • Capability to support collaborative virtual team meetings containing SBU information • Savings of $20K per month for NASA • Added the iPhone 3G S as an ODIN Seat Presentation Title—7—March 5, 2010
