  1. Red Light Therapy And Its Benefits You must be wondering what is red light therapy? Well, red light and near-infrared light therapy is a process to stimulate collagen production, help lower stretch scars, helps in muscle recovery, hormone production, and much more. Working of red light therapy To answer in short, as plants convert light into chemical energy through photosynthesis, our bodies can metabolize red and near-infrared light into cellular energy called adenosine triphosphate (ATP) which is necessary for restoration, repairing, and maintain our bodies. Now, what is ATP? Well, ATP is often referred to as energy currency of life. We can live for some amount of time without food, water, and even air, but if our bodies don’t have ATP, we cannot live. The receptor for ATP hinges on cytochrome c oxidase. It’s glue which makes ATP by helping oxygen bind with nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD) and hydrogen (H) to form NADH, the hydrides that make ATP synthase. When we feel stressed, sick, or injured, our cells produce more amount of nitric oxide, which binds cytochrome c oxidase and prevents it from doing its job. Without sufficient cytochrome c oxidase to for binding oxygen and NADH, our chances to make ATP gets lowered.
