OF INDIA, MINISTRY OF POWER • BEING MANAGED BY NTPC FOR THE LAST 26 YEARS SINCE 1st APRIL 1978. • NTPC adjudged as the 3rd best employer in India

Badarpur • INTRODUCTION • BTPS was conceived in 1965 to meet the growing electricity demand of Northern Region. • The site construction activities started in 1968. • The plant became operational with the commissioning of its first unit on 26th July 1973, 2nd unit in ;74 , 3rd unit in ’75 , 4th unit in ’78 & 5th unit in ’81.

Badarpur • INTRODUCTION • For the past 29 years & in its 30th year of operation, BTPS has been moving from strength to strength. • Achieved new heights in Generation, Availability and substantial reduction in inputs; thereby demonstrating overall efficiency in plant performance, towards its end-objective of providing power to the Capital. • In spite of the old and aging units, PLF of BTPS has remained higher than the National Average for the last 16 consecutive years. • Amongst Top 20 Power Stations of India current FY 8th position. • Achieved all our MOU Targets with Excellent Rating.

AWARDS Badarpur • MOP’s Meritorious Productivity Award: • For calendar years 1987, 1988, 1990. • For financial years 92-93, 94-95 and 97-98 • Received Bronze medal in 1998-99 and • Received Silver shield and certificate of Meritorious performance for 2000-01. • Received Gold shield and Certificate for outstanding performance three consecutive years 01-02 & 02-03 , 03-04. the awards were presented by Hon’ble President of India and Hon’ble power Minister on 24 August 2004.

ENVT. AWARD OF NTPC FOR 2000- 2001. • APPRECIATION CERTIFICATE FROM CHIEF MINISTER, DELHI TO THE TEAM OF BTPS FOR PARTICIPATION IN YAMUNA CLEANING ABHIYAN.

Badarpur • ENVIRONMENT MANAGEMENT • APPRECIATION CERTIFICATE FROM SECRETARY (ENVT) CUM CHAIRPERSON, DPCC FOR ENVIRONMENT MANAGEMENT. • MASSIVE TREE PLANTATION, EVEN IN ADOPTED LAND. • BTPS HAS RECEIVED AUTHORISATION FOR DISPOSAL OF BIO - MEDICAL WASTE FOR THE FIRST TIME. • CONSENT HAS BEEN GRANTED FOR HAZARDOUS WASTE MANAGEMENT.

  14. Badarpur • ENVIRONMENT MANAGEMENT • Station bagged IOC rolling trophy for reduction in fuel oil consumption for 98-99. • Greentech Industrial Safety Award 01-02, declared winner of Gold Award in Thermal Power Sector for outstanding achievement in the area of Industrial Safety – on 26.6.02.

  15. Badarpur • AWARDS • British safety award for 1988, 1994 and 1999. • One employee bagged the Vishwakarma Rashtriya Puraskar in 1994 from Ministry of Labour. Six employees have been given the same award for 1998. • 6 BTPS employees were awarded under Delhi Shramik Sujhao Yojna Puraskar’97 & • Another 8 employees have been awarded under Delhi Shramik Sujhao Yojna Puraskar’98 at Vigyan Bhawan on 20th Aug’02by Chief Minister of Delhi.

Quality Circles • 112 QCs are operating in the station. • At National Convention of Quality Circles (NCQC-2000) • “Chetna” QC of BTPS bagged first award in category “Best of Manufacturing Support Stream”. • Our other QC namely “Chakra” won “Best of The Session Award” in the same contest. • Quality Circle ‘Chakra’ won Distinguished Category Award at the 15th National Convention held at Hyderabad (NCQC-2001).

QUALITY CIRCLES • AT CCQC-2002 QCFI (MADURAI CHAPTER) FROM 28/06/02 TO 29/06/02, CHAKRA QC WON DISTINGUSED CATEGORY PRSENTATION AWARD. • AT CCQC-2002 (DURGAPUR CHAPTER) FROM 12th TO 13th JULY 2002, ABHIGYAN QC WON 1st PRIZE IN SERVICE GROUP. • AT INTERNATIONAL QUALITY CIRCLE CONVENTION -2002 (LUCKNOW ) WHICH WAS HELD ON 17-20 DEC 2002, THREE QC TEAMS - CHETNA , CHAKRA & TARANG PARTICIPATED & CHETNA WON DISTINGUISHED CATEGORY AWARD.
