  2. What is water pollution? Water pollution is the contamination of water bodies (example lakes , rivers, oceans, aquifers and groundwater)

  3. How it occurs? Water pollutions occurs when pollutants are discharged directly or indirectly into water bodies without adequate treatment to remove harmful compounds.

  4. Factory Waste being dumped into Water

  5. How does it affects our eco-system? Water pollution is very harmful to humans, animals and water life. The effects can be catastrophic, depending on the kind of chemicals, concentrations of the pollutants and where there are polluted.

  6. Water Pollution affecting food chain

  7. Solutions • Never throw rubbish away anyhow. Always look for the correct waste bin. This includes places like the beach, riverside and water bodies. • Do not throw chemicals, oils, paints and medicines down the sink drain, or the toilet.

  8. Use water wisely. Do not keep the tap running when not in use. Also, you can reduce the amount of water you use in washing and bathing. • There are many other ways to save water. You can consult your teacher for tips and also look it up on the internet.
